Cooking and Mixology
If it's a versatile crew cook and stewardess that you're looking for, stop here: you've found her!
I have always been passionate about food, and am an excellent meal planner. Coming from a family of 7, I am accustomed to cooking large batches of nutritious meals on a budget. Simple, easy, flavourful dishes are my signature, and I am constantly looking out for new recipes to try and new flavours to combine. Crew certainly won't go hungry with me on board!
Another avenue of the culinary world I have been exploring is mixology. Delicious drinks with interesting garnishes and fizzy flavours peak my interest and I am excited to grow in my expertise in this area. I have work experience as a bartender for my old lifesaving club, so I am accustomed to mixing brandy and coke for a busy party. Although my experience as a mixologist is limited, my enthusiasm is limitless and my eagerness to learn makes me excellent behind the bar.

Baking
Yeasts, molds, bacteria, baking - microbiology has taught me all!
I have a love for cakes and breads that is simply unmatched. I even like to bake them too! While my cake decorating skills definitely scream "Beginner!", I won't let a crew member's birthday go uncelebrated - my delicious sponge cake (and some candles) never disappoints. If I come on as a crew cook, there will be a steady supply of breads, muffins, cakes, and cookies, all baked to perfection with simple ingredients and wonderful flavours. Every crew member deserves a sweet treat at the end of a long shift, and my baked goods are just the right pick-me-up the crew needs. Plus, I promise to keep my sourdough starter out of sight (and smell!).

First Aid
Yes, every crew member should have a good knowledge of first aid through their STCW course, but does every crew member have additional first aid and lifeguarding experience?
My first aid experience started when I was 9 years old, learning through my lifesaving club how to treat a nosebleed and how to prevent drowning in water while experiencing a muscle cramp. Since then, I have completed my Junior Lifegaurd award at age 15, my Lifegaurd Award at age 16, and my level one first aid at age 20. Years on the beach keeping a keen eye out for jellyfish stings and potential drowning victims has equipped me with good first aider skills. I can respond quickly and calmly in times of distress, assist other first aiders in rescues and CPR, and treat minor wounds in people of all ages.
Wildlife Enthusiast
The African bush has truly captured my heart, and I hope one day to share these amazing safari experiences with fellow captains and crew members.
Living in South Africa is not always luxurious, but we are spoiled when it comes to incredible wildlife parks. South African national parks are some of the most beautiful places on Earth, and have a magic about them that cannot be captured in words. My goal is to visit all 19 SANPArks across the country, and explore the wonders they have to offer. So far, I've ticked seven parks off that list. I love nature and wildlife, and enjoying the great outdoors is a passion of mine.
Honestly, just take a look at some of the photos from these natural wonders and book your bucket list safari already!
